Muutaman vapaaehtoisen tutun ja tutun tutun ryhmä halusi vaikuttaa Ukrainan sodan ravistelemaan ja koronan uuvuttaman ilmapiiriin. Haluttiin tehdä jotain, joka muistuttaa ihmisen hyvyydestä ja yhteisöllisyyden tärkeydestä. Haluttiin kerätä ihmiset yhteen hyvän asian puolesta ja samalla tuottaa konkreettista hyötyä sitä tarvitseville. GraniAID muuttuikin pian paitsi vapaaehtoisten myös paikallisen Granin Lähiapu ry:n ja Kauniaisten Kaupungin yhteiseksi projektiksi.

En grupp av några frivilliga, bekantas bekanta, ville påverka atmosfären under Ukraina kriget och utmattad av corona. Vi ville göra något som påminner oss om människors godhet och vikten av gemenskap. Vi ville samla människor för en god sak och samtidigt producera påtagliga fördelar för dem som behöver det. GraniAID förvandlades snart till ett gemensamt projekt för inte bara volontärer utan också för det lokala Grani Närhjälp rf och Kauniaisten kaupunki.

A group of a few volunteers, acquaintances and their close ones willing to help, wanted to influence the atmosphere of Ukraine, affected by the war and exhausted by the corona. We wanted to do something that reminds us of the goodness of people and the importance of community. We wanted to gather people together for a good cause and at the same time produce tangible benefits for those who need it. GraniAID soon turned into a joint project not only of volunteers but also of the local Granin Lähiapu ry and Kauniainen City.
